Illumination Station!

Illuminating and highlighting the face have been the buzz words for quite some time now. Everyone wants the perfect glowy, dewy skin, and here is a look at a few products that can possibly do just that!

1. Benefit Moon Beam

MoonBeam Illumination Station! This is, along with High Beam, is what first comes to my mind when I think about anything highlighting for my face. It is the perfect shade and consistency to use on delicate facial skin. I prefer Moon Beam over High Beam purely because of the tint. I find that the pinky pearl tones in High Beam do not go well with my face. It tends to look too frosted and stands out too much for me. Moon Beam works perfectly mixed with your foundation or used as a simple highlight and is the perfect hint of glow without looking too harsh.

2. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

girlmeetspearl Illumination Station! I hate to give one product line too much glory, but I really think Benefit deserves this one. Girl Meets Pearl is one of Benefit’s best sellers (Sephora NEVER has it in stock) and it made InStyle’s list of Best Beauty Buys for 2011. I haven’t had the chance to own this product yet, but I have tried it out on multiple occasions. Plus, you can’t deny all of the raving reviews the consumers have given. This product is a lot like Moon Beam, but it is a creamy base rather than liquid. Who can pass up anything that offers “a dewy luxurious lit-from-within glow?”

3. NARS The Multiple in Copacabana

Copocabana Illumination Station! This would have to be my all time favorite highlighter. I use it on my brown bone, cheek bones, the top of my nose.. anywhere that needs a little pop! It is so easy to just slide right on, but I really like to apply it on my fingers and then rub into my skin. I find that it goes on smoother and more even when I use this method. I honestly would recommenced this product to anyone in a heart beat. It is by far one of the best $39 dollars I’ve ever spent. Not to mention it lasts FOREVER!

4. Philosophy The Supernatural Moonlight Natural Illuminating Powder

philosophymoonlight Illumination Station! Here is a perfect powder option to illuminating. A light powder like this can keep your highlighting from ending up too shiny which has potential to come across as oily. I would recommend this if you have oily skin, obviously, or if you are battling with  wrinkles. The reason being, you don’t want to add any more liquid on to your face than necessary because it can seep into wrinkles and make them appear even bigger. Yikes! I love Philosophy products in general, so I would definitely give this a shot!

5. Tarte Smooth Operator

TarteSmoothOperator Illumination Station! On a more earth friendly, natural note is Tarte’s Smooth Operator. It has ingredients including Amazonian Clay, vitamins, and tea extract. This illuminating serum is free of anything icky (parabens,  sulfates, synthetic dyes, etc.) This light product will help rid of oil and balance moisture so you will have a smooth canvas to work with- ideal for the perfect dewy appearance.

There is nothing better than perfect-looking skin, especially in the summer. A little touch of any of these great products will really rev up your complexion and give off that perfect glow!
